fading cream hydrangea turning brown by chamrickwriter randomstoryteller

Hot-cool seesaw slows,

Browning cream hydrangeas—

Pink sunset speckles.

Winter chill sneaks up;

Yellow leaves flutter foot-ward:

My last sockless day.

      All is well. I suppose you are braced for winter. I hope we catch up soon. You must be in a mad writing dash before the holidays.

        Glad to hear it. And yes, gearing up for winter and definitely in the home stretch for 2017 assignments. Sending all best wishes to you and yours this holiday season!

    Love the way you play with words (Foot-ward)
    Have missed your poetry.
    Wonder if you were a haiku ninja in another life.

      I am getting back to poetry–after my hiatus. I might finish my chapbook this winter. Hmmm.

    How good is that? First line has some great onomatopoeia. (sp?)

      Why I love Merriam Webster Online: instant answers! “Onomatopoeia.” I never could spell it in the days of Old English. Is that why I studied modernism/postmodernism?!

      Thanks! I am glad you like it. I am easing back into writing. Haiku helps. : )
