Hot-cool seesaw slows,
Browning cream hydrangeas—
Pink sunset speckles.
Winter chill sneaks up;
Yellow leaves flutter foot-ward:
My last sockless day.

Why I love Merriam Webster Online: instant answers! “Onomatopoeia.” I never could spell it in the days of Old English. Is that why I studied modernism/postmodernism?!
